10% of British adults 'go to coffee shops each day'

Companies in the hospitality sector, such as restaurants and hotels, could benefit from investing in a commercial coffee machine for customers to use.

According to the latest figures from Allegra Strategies, published in Eat Out Magazine, ten per cent of adults in Britain go to a coffee shop every day.

Statistics also revealed that more than one in three people have increased the number of times they go to a coffee shop in the last year.

As a result, customer-facing businesses could find it lucrative to provide their own coffee machine facilities in order to cash in on this demand for hot drinks.

However, firms should be aware that the amount consumers are spending at coffee shops has dropped slightly in the last few years.

Figures from Allegra Strategies showed that visitors to these establishments typically pay £3.18 during each transaction, down from £3.50 two years ago.

Nevertheless, Deloitte recently noted that Britons are still keen to go out to eat and drink, even amid the current economic difficulties.
