Commercial coffee
machines offer an amazing selection of products these days,
from instant coffee to cappuccino and espresso.
So no matter what your coffee tastes are, you're likely to find
your individual preferences well catered for at cafes, restaurants,
hotels and in plenty of other places too.
It's hard to say whether businesses have broadened their
offerings in response to people's widening preferences or if
growing public knowledge and awareness of different varieties has
prompted coffee providers to be more adventurous with their
selection.
But regardless of why this has happened, coffee drinkers in the
UK now have an unprecedented number of options from which to
choose.
Of course, some may be relatively unadventurous and be stuck in
the habit of having their particular favourite day after day.
Sometimes people do like to play it safe when they buy food or
drink when they are out, partly to guarantee they are getting
something they like.
But this does mean that they could be missing out on many
excellent alternatives that could potentially appeal to their
palate even more, if they give it a chance.
So what could be done to get these people to even think about
trying something else?
Maybe companies in the hospitality industry, such as restaurants
and cafes, could benefit from offering special promotions or
staging events to showcase these other types of coffee to a wider
audience.
The US celebrated National Espresso Day (23rd November
2011).
It could be a good idea to arrange something similar here in the
UK, so different types of coffee can be placed firmly under the
spotlight.
Who knows? Even those who are completely stuck in their ways
might be willing to try a discounted drink or a free sample and be
completely sold on the idea of trying it again in the future.
