A cup of coffee can make people feel more engaged
with the tasks they are performing, according to an expert.
Businesses could help staff become more productive at work by
installing a coffee machine on their
premises.
According to Professor Gary Dunbar, a psychology expert at
Central Michigan University, a cup of coffee can offer a number of
benefits, Central Michigan Life reports.
For instance, he said it can help people "become more engaged to
what they're doing".
As a result, investing in a coffee machine for the workplace can
ensure employees are more focused each day.
Professor Dunbar added that the hot drink can also make people more
vigilant when they are driving, stimulate a person's nervous system
and potentially help to combat depression.
This could be an important consideration in light of recent
findings from Simplyhealth and the Chartered Institute of Personnel
and Development.
Research by the two groups found that stress has become the main
cause of long-term sickness absence in the UK, partly because of
ongoing economic issues.
