Drinking coffee can be good for people who
exercise regularly, according to a doctor.
A coffee machine could be a useful
investment for businesses whose staff are regularly on the
go.
According to Dr Pamela Peeke, Discovery Health TV's chief medical
correspondent, caffeine can increase a person's physical
performance when they exercise, the Huffington Post reports.
She said coffee can aid people both in short bursts of bodily
activity and longer tests of their physical endurance.
"As a lifelong athlete, my fellow exercise buffs and I experience
the possible benefits of caffeine firsthand," Dr Peeke
commented.
However, she noted that the effect it can have on physical
performance is a less well-known advantage of drinking
coffee.
Dr Peeke went on to welcome a recent study by the Harvard School
of Public Health, which found that the caffeine can help to stave
off mental health problems such as depression.
"This is news you can use," she said.
Researchers at Harvard have confirmed that additional studies
into the effects of caffeine will be carried out in order to
bolster their recent findings.
