Coffee has been hailed as a healthier option than
black tea.
Grabbing a drink from the coffee machine at
work each day could be good for your health.
According to Chris Kilham, founder of Medicine Hunter, coffee is a
healthier hot drink than black tea, Fox News reports.
This, he stated, is because it contains antioxidants called
flavonoids that help stave off cardiovascular ailments, such as
strokes and heart attacks.
In addition, he noted that coffee can guard against colon cancer,
cirrhosis of the liver and gallstones.
As a result, Mr Kilham believes that coffee could be a better
option than black tea for those who want a hot drink.
"For centuries, coffee has been praised for
its invigorating properties and it is truly healthy for you," he
commented.
Mr Kilham added that the drink also contains substances that can
help tackle arthritis and diabetes.
This comes after the British Coffee Association insisted that the
notion coffee contributes to high blood pressure is a myth.
