Public sector bodies that are looking to
make their employees more engaged at work might benefit from
investing in an office coffee machine.
According to research by Badenoch & Clark,
issues such as cuts in public spending and concerns about possible
job losses are impacting on staff morale.
Nicola Linkleter, managing director of the recruitment specialist,
said this is in turn affecting their productivity.
With the restorative effects of coffee being
well documented by researchers over the years, purchasing a hot
drinks dispenser may be one good way to help stimulate pressurised
and worried members of staff.
"Many employees are feeling insecure about
their future," Ms Linkleter commented.
She added that morale is suffering particularly at those public
sector bodies were people have already been laid off and the
"effects of the cuts have been felt".
This comes after Dr Dawn Harper, a broadcaster
and GP, was quoted by Female First as saying that eating a healthy
breakfast is a good way to feel happier and more energetic on cold
winter mornings.
