Companies that are looking to buy a new office
coffee machine have been advised that going green can help the
economy.
According to the City of London Corporation,
embracing the notion of resource efficiency is one way to boost
economic growth in Britain.
Simon Mills, head of sustainable development
at the body, noted that many businesses are already moving towards
putting greener practices in place.
He said this is particularly significant given the current
financial climate in the UK.
"In the face of public sector cutbacks, UK businesses have stepped
up to the plate when it comes to sustainability," Mr Mills
commented.
Some of the top green performers are being
recognised in the upcoming Sustainable City Awards.
Firms that want to enjoy this type of recognition could therefore
benefit from considering the environment when buying new
technology, such as IT equipment and coffee machines.
This comes shortly after Littlegreenblog said
going green makes sense because consumers want to support companies
that take steps to reduce their environmental impact.
