Companies that have taken steps such as purchasing
a sustainable coffee machine have been encouraged to get employees
involved in their environmental efforts.
According to Littlegreenblog.com, there are
many ways that small to medium-sized enterprises in particular can
boost their green credentials with minimal effort.
For instance, the website suggested that members of staff be
invited to join eco teams, who would be responsible for areas such
as making sure waste is properly recycled and that computers and
lights are turned off when they are not in use.
Littlegreenblog.com said this would make employees feel they are
doing something practical in order to make their firm more
environmentally friendly.
"Taking baby steps is a great way to boost
staff morale," the site added.
This could be especially important in light of
a recent study from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and
Development and Simplyhealth, which found that stress is weighing
heavily on employees' minds.
