More and more people who want to grab a brew from
a coffee machine might want to consider heading to their nearest
independent café bar.
According to research by Allegra Strategies, this year saw the
launch of over 600 new coffee shops in Britain, Eat Out Magazine
reports.
Jeffrey Young, the group's managing director, said this means
consumers now have more of an opportunity than ever to consume the
drink.
As a result, he believes spending time at a coffee shop is
increasingly becoming a "part of their lifestyle".
Mr Young added that the sector has also expanded in terms of its
monetary worth in the UK over the last few years.
"The UK coffee shop market continues to exceed expectations by
growing significantly in value," he commented.
This comes after a study by LV= found
that many people in the UK consider buying a brew from a shop each
day a lifestyle essential they are unwilling to sacrifice, even in
this climate of rising living costs.
