It is probably true to say that a lot of cafe bars
don't always have lots of in-house technical expertise and staff
who know the ins and outs of how their commercial coffee
machine works.
But since these devices are absolutely critical to their
business, they do need to have a hotline to somebody who does know
the subject to expert level, who can also come along to sort out
any problems that may arise.
This scenario is a clear illustration of the fact that
businesses in the retail sector are never entirely self-sufficient.
They rely on suppliers a great deal, as it is their job to deliver
the goods they sell to customers.
Suppliers must also provide quality goods and be ready to act if
anything falls short of the required standard.
A problem in any of these three areas will be instantly
noticeable to the customer, as they cannot get exactly what they
came in the establishment for.
So if a commercial coffee machine does break down for whatever
reason, the consumer certainly won't be happy and will simply look
at taking their business elsewhere.
Cafe bars should therefore choose their suppliers carefully and
have an adequate plan of action in place just in case any of these
issues crop up.
This goes well beyond making sure their technical infrastructure
is in working order day after day.
Food and drink deliveries are also critical to a cafe bar - what
would the customers think if it ran out of a certain type of coffee
or fresh milk?
Sometimes it can be worth researching the market and finding out
just who the industry leaders are. If you have contacts who work in
the same industry, it should be easy to see if any names crop up
time and time again.
