Companies could benefit from investing in an
office coffee machine after being reminded of the impact of
workplace stress.
According to author Carole Spiers, this is a growing problem for
businesses that can prove harmful both to them and to the
individuals concerned.
As a result, she believes company bosses
cannot afford to overlook the issue, as it represents a genuine
"threat" to a business's performance.
"It needs to be identified early and managed efficiently," Ms
Spiers commented.
"Ignoring stress in the workplace results in poor talent retention
and low morale."
Purchasing a coffee machine for the workplace
could be one good way for employers to address the issue and
support workers.
According to research by South Korea's Seoul
National University, the smell of coffee can help to ease
stress.
As a result, encouraging the workforce to
drink the hot beverage throughout the day could have positive
effects and therefore boost productivity.
